Here we are at Willance's Leap!
Three stones and a seat. With the wall to your Right continue along the scar top, in and out of a few small valleys, perhaps where Robert made his preliminary leaps.
(Willance's family had lead mines at Clints,
beyond here, between Marske and Marrick)
Follow the wall round a long slow curve Right, until you see the TV aerial with photocell

Go L down the bank to the tarred
track, L again and all the way down
to the cattle grid BUT NOT OVER,
Turn to your right
Pass
stone
trough
and over
the stile
in the
wall
Soon on the Left go over another stile,
you have joined the
Coast to Coast Walk
The path is over this stile and a short way down an old green lane
Pass to Left of East Applegarth farm and go through gate at far side of field.
Pass between
ends of walls
and cross
farm track.
Go through gate
or over stile into
pasture field
Over the stile by the gate, follow track up through woods and out by a further gate. An open field drops to the Rt. Stay on the track and return to the gate at High Leazes. Go back round the gate and retrace your earlier steps to Westfields and the town, by the field itself or the small lane back to the corner shop.
Track bears L out into rough field. Willance's Leap is high on the scar to your left. Stay on the track as it leads to Whitcliffe Woods. (A fine field for primroses)
Cross the farm track ahead and over the stile into field.
Bear slightly L across field
